PBC Div. of Emergency Management

 Need information on Emergency procedures in Palm Beach County?  Try the Palm Beach County Division of Emergency Management site for more detailed information and procedures which can help your association during a time of an emergency.

PBC Property Appraiser

Many times, you may need to check to see if a real estate transfer has taken place or to verify who the current owner is of a unit. Go to the Palm Beach County Appraisers site for this information.

***The Appraiser's office now has a calculator to compare the proposed new two-tiered homestead exemption vs. the present "Save Our Homes Assessment cap and $25,000 Homestead exemption.  Under News, there is a link explaining the proposal or you can go directly to your property and perform the calculation.

Another great site for emergency preparedness is the FEMA site.  They have a whole series of publications that can be downloaded titled "Are You Ready" which is a guide to Citizen Preparedness.  This guide is in The "Plan Ahead" section of their site.

Florida Division of Emergency Management

The Florida Division of Emergency Management has a great site which helps to educate residents on hurricane preparedness and other natural disasters.  When you access the site, click on Florida Hazardous Weather Awareness Banner.  There they have a preparedness guide which is excellent for anyone who lives in Florida.

Have questions on the Florida Building Code?  The Florida Department of Community Affairs has an excellent and comprehensive site that can be accessed.
Florida DBPR

Need to check licenses of professionals that you may be dealing with? This is a great site to have at your disposal for verifying State of Florida Licenses. Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.  In addition, the Division of Land Sales, Condominium and Mobile Homes provides education, enforcement and other pertinent information.  They also have a great section on links that they feel are important and related.

Fldfs - Wk. Comp & Ins. Mediation

Need to check to see whether a company or a contractor has Workmen's Compensation Insurance?  Use this site under Proof of Coverage Database. 

In addition, if your association has incurred hurricane damage and you have been unable settle your claim with your insurance carrier, the Department of Financial Services now has a Mediation Program that will help an association to resolve their claims.  Click on the Condo Mediation button on the right for more details about this program. 

Florida Department of Law Enforcement

Florida Department of State

The Florida Department of State can provide information on corporations and laws within the State of Florida. Great reference site to check who are officers and directors of any company that you may wish to do business with or check on the status of your association's corporate annual report.

NOAA's National Weather Service

The National Weather Service has a Tropical Prediction Center which issues watches, warnings, forecasts and analyses of hazardous tropical weather.  Stay informed of tropical weather activity. 

The Weather Underground

The Weather Underground site has a great radar site better than any other local radar.  With this page you can create a zoom box by clicking and dragging your mouse.  The zoom box will allow you get very close to your neighborhood. It has other features as well. It shows radar from Fort Pierce to the Keys.

The Community Association Institute is a National organization which provides education and support to property managers, association officers and director and other industry leaders.  Everyone has access to their extensive library, but members receive a reduced price.  It is an excellent site for everyone to visit.

Condo Management Magazine

The Privacy Rights Clearinghouse (PRC) is a nonprofit consumer organization with a two-part mission -- consumer information and consumer advocacy. It was established in 1992 and is based in San Diego, California. It is primarily grant-supported and serves individuals nationwide.
